Summer Break
Why slowing down doesn't mean stopping.
The 4th of July always feels like the beginning of the end of summer to me. Maybe it’s because ever since Ethan went to college, it's marked the halfway point, and we’ll be packing him back up for Syracuse before we know it.
And this year, it feels even more fleeting. Our family vacation isn’t until August, but Ethan’s summer internship wraps up in less than two weeks. Time has a way of speeding up when you wish it would slow down.
That’s one of the reasons I’m actually really happy that A Place of Yes is on summer break too.
The funny thing is that I’m probably busier now than when episodes are actually airing. We’re getting a jump on recordings, and I’ve already recorded two September conversations that I can’t wait to share. I’m sorting through guest pitches, planning future interviews, and working on new social and YouTube content so you don’t completely forget about us.
But it’s a different kind of busy, and I like it. I always love a pause. Even when the work doesn’t stop, it’s nice when the focus shifts. It’s a chance to reset, get creative, and hopefully come back even stronger.
In the meantime, I have one small favor to ask.
If you listen to Apple Podcasts or Spotify, would you follow the show if you haven’t already? And if you’ve enjoyed the conversations, a review goes a really long way.
I know I say it often, but for a small podcast, those things genuinely make a difference—especially when we’re taking a break from releasing new episodes until September.
And if you watch on YouTube, I’d love for you to subscribe. Watch a few Shorts, catch up on an episode you missed, or share one that resonated with you. Every view, subscription, and review helps more people discover these conversations.
Thank you, as always, for being here. I hope you’re finding a little time this summer to slow down, enjoy the people you love, and make time for summer shenanigans —even if it’s already starting to feel like it’s going by too fast.
XO,
Heather
